Stack the Miles 5K Participant Waiver & Release

By registering for and participating in the Stack the Miles 5K, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I understand that participating in a 5K running/walking event involves physical activity and carries inherent risks. These risks may include, but are not limited to, falls, collisions, uneven terrain, weather conditions, dehydration, overexertion, illness, injury, interaction with other participants, and other known or unforeseen hazards associated with participating in an outdoor running or walking event.

I voluntarily choose to participate and knowingly assume the risks associated with my participation.

HEALTH & FITNESS

I certify that I am physically capable of participating in this event and understand that I am responsible for determining whether I am medically and physically prepared to participate.

I understand that event organizers do not provide medical advice or guarantee that participation is appropriate for my individual health or fitness level.

RELEASE & WAIVER

To the extent permitted by applicable law, I release and hold harmless the event organizers, Stack the Miles 5K, SNS, their owners, organizers, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, contractors, representatives, and other parties involved in producing the event from claims arising from my voluntary participation in the event, except to the extent such claims cannot legally be waived.

EVENT CONDITIONS

I understand that the event may be modified, postponed, interrupted, or canceled due to weather, unsafe conditions, government requirements, park restrictions, emergencies, or circumstances beyond the organizers' reasonable control.

I agree to follow event rules, course instructions, safety directions, and instructions provided by event staff and volunteers.

PHOTO & VIDEO RELEASE

I understand that photographs, video, and other media may be captured during the event. I grant the event organizers and SNS permission to use images or recordings in which I appear for event promotion, social media, websites, advertising, recaps, and other promotional purposes without additional compensation, to the extent permitted by law.

PERSONAL PROPERTY

I understand that I am responsible for my personal belongings and that event organizers are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property, except where otherwise required by law.

MINORS

Participants under 18 must have this waiver reviewed and agreed to by a parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian acknowledges the risks of participation and provides permission for the minor to participate.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT

By checking the required Participant Waiver & Release box during registration, I confirm that I have read and understood this waiver, have had the opportunity to review its terms, and voluntarily agree to them.
